How would you describe Ohlive Villas in a nutshell?
At OHLIVE Villas we want to do everything to make you enjoy life to the fullest when staying with us. We offer the beautifully designed luxury villas to relax, or ‘re-lux’ as we like to put it, in a quiet setting with the most delightful views from Skiathos. And to make sure your stay becomes truly unforgettable, our holiday concierge team is happy to help you with every wish you might have to make your holiday the best ever.
What is the story behind Ohlive Villas, what was your inspiration to create it?
We fell in love with this specific part (Kechria) of Skiathos island the moment we arrived because of its landscape, green surroundings and magnificent sunsets.
Together with 3H Architects we build sleek, playful and characteristic villas that blend into the surrounding olive orchards. The infinity pools with sea views are surrounded by large terraces so you can experience Greek outdoor life. All of our villas have the stunning backdrop of both the seaside and the Mandraki natural reserve.
How would you describe the atmosphere and the interior design of the villas?
Our OHLIVE Villas are designed to enjoy your holiday in Skiathos in a sleek interior where with lots of natural colors and materials. The style is Scandinavian, so expect lots of wood and beige and white furniture.

Upon arrival at our OHLIVE villas entrance, you can park 2 cars in your private parking space. Our villa I is deliciously private, sleek and modular and fully equipped with modern amenities. It’s made up of several pavilions connected by covered terraces. Rugged and strong-lined, with echoes of mid-century modernism, our four-bedroom pavilion villas are connected by shady structures and dining and living terraces. Low-slung privacy walls conceal a fantastic rectilinear lap pool. Sunbeds surround the home, and roof terraces give the villa a seaside watchtower character.
Four bedrooms with en suite bathrooms provide the space for you to unwind even more and two master bedrooms provide front row seats to amazing sunsets. One of the master bedrooms has a private entrance and private terrace on the first floor, the other one is on the ground floor close to the common area. The two junior bedrooms can be found around the inner courtyard at the basement level. Sliding windows open up the open kitchen with living room on the ground floor, and then connect to the outdoor terrace. Here’s where you’ll find an outdoor BBQ and view on your private shimmering infinity pool with unobstructed view out to sea.

Four bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms fill the multilevel space, connected by sunlit stairwells and long, linear shaded porches. An infinity pool stretches out alongside the outdoor living and dining decks, outfitted with comfortable seating for contemplating the view. Four bedrooms with en suite bathrooms provide the space for you to unwind even more and two adjacent master bedrooms on the ground floor have front row seats to the stunning sunsets. The two junior bedrooms can be found around the inner courtyard at the basement level. Sliding windows open up the open kitchen with living room on the ground floor, and then connect to the outdoor terrace. Our brand new villa opened during the summer of 2023. Upon arrival at our OHLIVE Villa V entrance, you can park 2 cars in your private parking space. This villa is part of a complex of 2 villas. Our villa V is deliciously private, sleek and modular, fully equipped with modern amenities. It’s made up of several pavilions, like many of our villas, connected by covered terraces. This villa with stunning sea view combines stone, metal, wood and slab in a geometric perch where all eyes are directed out to sea.
Our OHLIVE VILLA V welcomes up to 8 guests, making it perfect for families. It has 4 bedrooms with 4 en-suite bathrooms. The master bedrooms on each floor connect to the junior bedrooms by means of connecting doors. The bedroom on the ground floor even includes its very own dressing room. Add convenient storage space with a laundry room to the equation and you’ll soon find out the true meaning of comfort.
Imagine yourself unwinding on a sunbed or sofa in one of the many seating areas on the terraces, by the pool or by the threshold of your bedroom. Or soaking up the warmth of the sun from your very own big infinity pool, a blissful 9 meters long, as you blend into the beautiful scenery of the 1.000 square meters that surrounds you. With both the Mandraki natural reserve and the sea by your side, there’s always something for your eyes to feast on.
Large sliding windows offer the possibility to invite your surroundings into your home, and experience life the way the Greeks do. You can also make the phenomenal open kitchen area even more grand, simply by sliding open the windows. The outdoor barbecue will allow you to sink your teeth into the joy of preparing your own favorite local foods.
Our OHLIVE Beach Villa is in an enviable location. Surrounded by an ancient olive grove that's tucked into a protected nature reserve, overlooking the expanse of the Aegean and within walking distance of Ligaries Beach. Our OHLIVE Beach villa has a long private entrance road arriving at the private parking where you enter the villa at the first floor.
This villa makes a bold statement, with its strong lines, gleaming white walls and minimalistic embellishment. Huge sliding windows bring the outside in, and expansive terraces invite you to spend all day outside, taking in impressive views of the sea and the Greek mainland in the distance. Enter it via the first floor, and you'll find an open kitchen on the right and a living area on the left, complete with a home cinema. The terraces are an inviting space, with an L-shaped pool with chill out zone, plus an abundance of options for reclining and dining. When the day is over, follow the stairs beside the pool that lead down to the 4 bedrooms. The ground floor consists of 2 master bedrooms and 1 junior bedroom with an en suite bathroom. The last junior bedroom with private bathroom completes the villa. The bedrooms are surrounded by terraces as well for you to enjoy your morning coffee or evening cocktail.
Which facilities and amenities are available to the guests (included or on request)?
Every villa has its own private infinity pool and we take care of cleaning and towel change every other day and linen change once per week. Upon request, we can offer many things: anything from a private chef who can use our gas BBQ at the villa and cook a wonderful dinner for you to a private yoga teacher to start your day in the most relaxing way. We can also organize a private day trip around the island on a luxury rib boat. Whatever you can dream up: our holiday concierge team will get it done for you.
To you personally, what is so special about the different villas?
I think they all have their own uniqueness, it really depends on what you are looking for. Our OHLIVE beach villa is at a 5 minute walk from the beach, it offers complete privacy and has a big infinity pool with shallow zone to relax – and that includes a hammock on the terrace.
Our OHLIVE Villas I, II and V have the most beautiful (sunset) view over the sea and landscape which immediately gives you the relaxing holiday feeling you came looking for. What they all have in common is that they offer low-key spaces ideal for unwinding, unplugging, and soaking up the invigorating island sun.

Our OHLIVE Villas I & II & V are at the same location in Kechria above Kechria Beach and close to the medieval fortified site Kastro. Situated in the North-Western side of the island. Hiring a 4x4 car is highly recommended because of the surrounding dirt roads.

What do you particularly like about the island of Skiathos?
Skiathos has it all: Skiathos is packed with pine forests, beautiful green nature, archaeological ruins, and - most importantly - sandy beaches. Sail around on a chartered catamaran or rib boat, hike to the dramatic medieval ruins of Kastro or wander around in the authentic town of Skiathos. Which activities are available at the property and nearby? How near is the closest beach?
The compactness of the island allows you to easily drive from the peaceful and quiet area of your villa towards the town or one of the many beach bars or beaches that the island has to offer. Don't miss these benches with the most beautiful sunset along the dirt road. Although the vicinity of 2 easy-going beaches with fantastic tavernas - Taverna Ligaries & Taverna Tarsanas- close to the villas are worth a visit (warning: might be addictive as we can assure you that will want to go back;-)).
What would you say are 3 highlights people should not miss and why?
According to me, you cannot leave Skiathos without doing a small hike to the medieval fortified site Kastro, the view over there is amazing and you can also head to Kastro Beach from there. A short hike through the Magical forest full of old trees and a dreamy river that ends up at Kechria Beach where you can enjoy a refreshing drink and the best fish of the island. And last but not least you should definitely pay a visit to charming Skiathos town full of small streets and good restaurants, bars & shops.
When is the best time to visit Skiathos?
The season for Skiathos starts in May and ends end of September, the beginning of October. The best time to enjoy the island would be June or September for me. But it all depends on what you are looking for. Summer months like July & August are the most popular, with more people on the island but this also means more ambiance in bars and at the beaches.
Are there any restaurants within walking distance? Any supermarkets?
For OHLIVE Beach Villa there is a taverna just next to it, for OHLIVE Villas I, II & V the closest taverna is 10 minute drive down to Kechria Beach. Other restaurants are situated in town, it will take you about 25 minutes to get there by car. Supermarkets are also located close to town or next to the ring road of Skiathos at 25 minutes’ drive.
How big is the pool and is it heated?
The sun makes sure that a heated pool is never needed. It’s wonderfully refreshing to jump into the pool.
